Summary of the activity report

1 - Osteopathic sessions carried out in partnership with the Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh

  • 16 December 11.00: pedagogical assessment with the heads of the Maternity Department and Dr Koy Vanny. The objective was to report slower progress than initially expected and difficulties in student attendance.
  • First session: 17 November from 8.00 to 12.00 – topic on the pathologies of newborn babies and osteopathic care. The course was given by Dr. Patrick Jouhaud. Working conditions and attendance were identical to previous sessions.
  • Second session: 15 and 16 December – topic covered: joint and muscle diseases of the hip and knee. The course was given by Mr Olivier Cazenave, assisted by Ms Delphine Alessandrini and Dr Patrick Jouhaud.

2 - Teaching session on osteopathy carried out within the framework of the International Programme in partnership with the University of Health Sciences of Phnom Penh

  • Teacher: Dr. Patrick Jouhaud (MD-DO)
  • Location: University of Health Sciences, #73 Monivong Boulevard Phnom Penh
  • Dates: 26 to 30 November
  • Room: large practical work room
  • Equipment: a table – a PC – examination tables for practical work
  • Timetable: 8.00 – 11.00
  • Students: 20 participants from the 4th year of Medicine.

3 - Office and clinic activities

  • Three days of treatment offered to children already seen before, with severe pathology and requiring several treatments per year.
  • 30 consultations and treatments carried out as part of the clinic’s activity – with the presence of students on training courses – the income generated by these consultations came from donations exclusively intended for the local operation of the NGO

4 - Osteopathic sessions carried out in partnership with local homes in Phnom Penh

  • Le Restaurant des Enfants (2nd pass) : 237 children – 15 adults – 3 days – 11 practitioners – 2 trainees
  • SOS Mamans-Bébés (2nd visit): 71 babies and 18 adults – 1 day – 11 practitioners – 2 trainees.
  • Borey Komar (Asian children) (7th visit) : 55 children and 8 adults – 1 day – 8 practitioners.
  • Light of Mercy (2nd pass): 43 children – 12 adults – 1 J – 5 practitioners.
  • GSES (1st visit): 51 children and 5 adults – ½ day – 12 practitioners – 3 trainees.
  • PPenh Thmey (2nd visit): 56 children and 5 adults – 1 day – 5 practitioners – 1 trainee.
  • CCSF (2nd visit): 40 children and 4 adults – 1 day – 5 practitioners.
  • KKEV (2nd visit): 83 children and 5 adults – 1 day – 12 practitioners.
  • NBIC (3rd visit): 97 children and 15 adults – 1 day – 10 practitioners – 1 trainee.

5 - Osteopathic sessions carried out in partnership with the homes of Kampong Chnang and Battambang

  • Kampong Chnang orphanage (2nd visit): 34 children and 4 adults – ½ day – 9 practitioners.
  • “Enfants d’Asie” orphanage (4th visit): 108 children and 13 adults – 1 day – 13 practitioners,
  • Sovannaphum Komar orphanage (2nd visit): 29 children and 7 adults – ½ day – 3 practitioners,
  • “Children’s future” centre (1st visit): 98 children and 16 adults – 1 day – 13 practitioners,
  • Metakaruna children’s centre (1st visit): 110 children and 10 adults – 1 day – 10 practitioners,
  • Goldensilk Village (2nd visit): 74 treatments – 1 day – 11 practitioners.

6 - PhareCircus (Siem Reap and Battambang)

  • 04 to 09/12/2018, from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm,
  • Number of practitioners: 5+1 trainee at BTB (5-6/12) – 2 at SR (4/12 – 7/12),
  • 81 osteopathic treatments, distributed among circus performers of the 2 troops (Battambang and Siem Reap), circus school students, teachers, staff members, technicians, parents of the students,
  • 2 days of teaching (one practitioner),
