Summary of the activity report

1 - Osteopathic sessions carried out in partnership with the Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh

5th teaching session of osteopathy over three half-days (24/02 – 09/03)

  • 24/02/2019 from 8.00 to 12.00 – topic on the pathologies of newborn babies and osteopathic care (examinations and treatments of the skull – interests of this care for the future of the child. The course was given by Dr. Patrick Jouhaud. Working conditions and attendance were identical to previous sessions.
  • 9/03/2019 from 8.00 to 17.00 – theme treated: the cranio-spinal joint. The course was given by Dr. Patrick Jouhaud.
    The approach was functional, with links to the sense organs. The treatments learned were the inversions of parameters in the sagittal plane, related to ocular and buccal synergies.

2 - Second teaching session on osteopathy carried out within the framework of the International Programme in partnership with the University of Health Sciences of Phnom Penh

  • Teachers: Dr. Patrick Jouhaud and Dr. Sandra Sartori (MD-DO)
  • Location: University of Health Sciences, #73 Monivong Boulevard Phnom Penh
  • Dates: 4 to 6 March
  • Room: large practical work room
  • Equipment: a table – a PC – examination tables for practical work
  • Timetable: 8.00 – 11.00
  • Students: 13 participants from the 4th year of Medicine

3 - Activity of the Aura Clinic

Two days of consultations and treatments provided by two osteopathic practitioners.

4 - Osteopathic sessions carried out in partnership with local children’s centres in Phnom Penh

  • Le Restaurant des enfants & SOS Mamans-Bébés: 217 treatments (214 E + 3A) – 8 practitioners,
  • Samnong home: 25 treatments – 6 practitioners,
  • Taramana Magdalena Center: 121 treatments (including 10 adults) – 4 practitioners,
  • Light of Mercy home: 42 treatments (6 adults),
  • 5 practitioners – 1 trainee,
  • Ptea Clara Orphanage: 68 treatments (3 adults) – 6 practitioners,
  • NBIC centre: 139 treatments (28 adults) – 12 practitioners – 1 trainee,
  • GSES (2nd visit): 47 children and 9 adults – ½ day – 7 practitioners – 1 trainee.

5 - Osteopathic sessions carried out in partnership with homes in Kampot Province

Shade for Children (Kep): 125 treatments (including 4 A) – 11 practitioners

6 - Osteopathic sessions carried out in partnership with Sihanoukville neighbourhood homes

  • “Enfants du Cambodge” help centre: 144 treatments (including 50 adults) – 11 practitioners,
  • Via del Campo: 60 treatments (2 adults) – 11 practitioners,
  • M’Lop Tabang: 440 treatments (28 adults) – 11 practitioners.

7 - Activity with PhareCircus (Siem Reap and Battambang)

  • 43 treatments spread over the two structures
    – 15 hours of training in osteopathy – including 6 hours of revision,
  • 4 osteopathic practitioners involved,
  • 1 teacher (Raymond Lopez D.O.).
